BT Young Scientist

This Time I'm Voting is about young people and their opportunity to vote in the upcoming #EUelections2019. With this in mind, we packed up our This Time I’m Voting badges and banners and shipped them off down to the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.

The BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition is an annual event show-casing the young innovative and explorative talent emerging in Ireland’s field of science, technology and research.

Over the course of three days, throngs of students, young adults, teachers and technology-aficionados bustled their way throughout the halls of the RDS. Alongside the European Commission Representation in Ireland, the European Parliament set up a stand providing a whole of host of information (and then, some!) about #EP2019 and why this time, everybody was voting for science! Between a hoard of goodies and gadgets, people from all corners of Ireland flocked to our exhibit to pledge their support for the upcoming European elections. Of course, that was just one of the reasons which would explain the seemingly magnetic force pulling people to our stand - the lesson on how to make sticky slime by our local scientist certainly helped!

In between discussions about the elections, students and teachers tested their skills on all things Europe! From geography to science, everyone learned something new about the EU.

This time, young scientists discovered that we are voting for our future!
